CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels are used for various reason: to reduce signs of sun damage, soften the appearance of scars, reduce fine lines, fade dark spots and to speed up the clearance of acne. There are so called “lunchtime peels” that take just a few minutes, and allow you to return to your normal daily activities without downtime. There are also deeper chemical peels that require a few days of recovery. Your dermatologist will decide which treatment is best for you.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is a treatment that involves injecting a dilute solution directly into spider veins. These unwanted spider veins will then gradually collapse over a 6 week period following the treatment. These sessions are quick and easy. There is only minimal pinching felt during the treatment. The results are amazing!

TORN EARLOBE REPAIR

Wearing heavy earrings, or accidental rough pulling on the earlobe while wearing earrings can result in a tear in the ear lobe. These tears do not spontaneously close. However, they can be surgically repaired to restore their normal appearance.

COSMETIC REMOVAL OF UNWANTED MOLES

Dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN) are prominently located on the faces of both African American men and women. They are small, brown or black bumps that are sometimes mistaken for moles. A combination of heredity, aging and exposure to the sun are factors that cause DPNs. Since DPNs are non-cancerous, they do not have to be treated. They do, however, increase in number and size as people mature and it is for these reasons that many people want them treated. There is no cream that has the ability to removed DPNs. Treatment involves desiccating (burning) them with an electric needle. These procedures are well generally tolerated and healing generally occurs within one week. Side effects of removal may include light or dark skin discolorations which usually fade rapidly.

SKIN TAGS REMOVAL

Flesh Moles or Skin tags are annoying balls of skin that commonly erupt around the neck, underarms, in the groin folds and under the breasts of women. They are unattractive and sometimes can get irritated by necklaces and undergarments. Our doctors can easily remove these lesions in a quick office visit.
